Dear Family and Friends,
I hope everyone survived the cold! I am looking forward to seeing all the children back at school now that the cold snap is over. :)
Last week we tried our best to ensure the students who were absent didn't miss too much.
We continued with letters and learned the sounds of the letters 'K' and 'L' and practiced writing the letter formation.
We practiced how to represent the number 6 in different ways and we continued our exploration about big and small objects and numbers.
We also continued discussing what courage means and how to be courageous.
Next week we will be having our exciting in school field trip from Scientists in Schools. Thank you to the parents who are able to volunteer! Please remember that if you are interested to volunteer with the CBE you will need to get a valid police clearance. Contact the office to get more information about how to do this.
We will also focus on the the letters M and N and the numbers 7 and 8. Soon we will be finishing up our exploration of numbers to 10 and how to represent numbers in different ways.
Next in Math we will be starting our unit about Shapes.
We slowed down the sight words so the absent students miss too much. By the end of next week our goal is to have covered the following sight words:
