December 13, 2019

Dear Family and Friends,

Thank you so much for donating to the Calgary Food Bank this week. The children felt so proud that they were able to help out those in need.

This week we learned the letter H and made awesome collages with lots of pictures of things that start with the letter H.

In Math we practiced how to represent the number 5 in different ways. To represent a number we write a numeral, write the word, show it on our fingers, write tally marks, draw pictures and fill in a ten-frame We also showed off our Math skills by choosing our own number from 2-5 and wrote all the ways we know how to represent a number.

Watch this song to see some of the examples of representing a number:

We learned a new Math game to practice subitizing using the Power of Ten cards. It's called The Power of Ten War. Ask me about how to play!

These are what the Power of Ten cards look like:
We had tons of fun yesterday when Engineering for Kids came to visit and we learned how to make popper toys.

Next we are working on writing and drawing the steps of how we made it!

Next week will be a busy week with caroling, our PM Celebration of Learning and lots of hands on crafts!
