Dear Family and Friends,

Thanks to everyone who came to the CJM open house and visited our wonderful Kindergarten space and school. The kids were so excited to share their new community with you. 😀

We had a great week full of learning, exploring, playing and developing friendships. Here are some photos of our centre time in action!

     

This week we learned about what it means to be a Bucket Filler. We all have an invisible bucket that is either full when we feel happy or empty when we feel sad. When you are a bucket filler you are helping other people have full buckets. This could be by asking them to play, sharing with them, helping them, saying kind words to them and much more. The great thing about filling a friend's bucket is that when you are kind, your bucket gets full too! 

We practiced the math concept "sorting" by sorting manipulatives into different colour groups. Some of us got creative and tried to sort in other ways too! We will continue exploring sorting by colour, shape and size. You could have your child try sorting their toys at home!



On Tuesday we went on our nature walk to explore the beautiful changes of fall. We discussed things we saw and wondered about as we walked. We noticed there were many different coloured leaves on the trees, that some grass was turning brown and some berries were turning black! We also collected some things from nature that felt special to us. (We made sure to give Mother Nature lots of kisses to say thank you for letting us take them!)

Snack

• Healthy Snack - Please ensure your child has some healthy snacks to choose from. Our snack time provides nutrition to the children and helps them have energy to learn. Some ideas are vegetable, fruit, yogurt, cheese, sandwiches, boiled eggs, whole grain crackers and granola bars. Thanks for your support with this. 
• Extra Snack - If your child is in school on FRIDAY or if they are in the AM class and take the bus home, please send extra food for your child. They have a long day and get hungry with all our busy activities!
